Events Not Too Long Past

Storming the Barn

The Wheatland Chorale took advantage of an opportunity to combine two favorite American pastimes, choral singing and baseball, when we sang our National Anthem at the Barnstormer's Game in Lancaster's Clipper Stadium, Saturday, September 23, 2006. Our very own Doug Weaver arranged the anthem for this performance.

Vierne Redux

The Wheatland Chorale revisited the French repertoire that we sang in the Spring of 2006, including Vierne's Requiem and selections by Debussy and Poulenc, when we traveled to United Church of Christ at Valley Forge, 45 Walker Road, Wayne, PA, on Sunday, September 24, 2006, at 4:00 pm, to sing in the UCC's "Music of Note" concert series.

Season's Greetings at Longwood

Longwood Gardens, in Kennett Square, PA, welcomed the Wheatland Chorale on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at 7:00 and 8:00 pm. The Chorale offered music for the holiday season in this gorgeous garden setting. Longwood marked its Centennial this year.

Flying Buttresses

The Wheatland Chorale provided half an hour of special music as the prelude to the 11:00 service at the Washington National Cathedral on Sunday, March 11, 2007.

Da Capo

The Wheatland Chorale presented Aaron Copland's In the Beginning, and other Americana from the Spring 2007 concert in the Abendmusik concert series at the First Presbyterian Church of York, 225 East Market Street, York, PA, on Saturday, October 27, at 7:00 pm.

The Wheatland Chorale also sang the Copland concert at the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge, 45 Walker Road, Wayne, PA, on Sunday, September 16, 2007, at 4:00 pm, in the UCC's "Music of Note" concert series.

Lucerne, Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich

Many members of the Wheatland Chorale toured Switzerland, Austria, and Germany for 10 days in June and July of 2008, along with members of Harrisburg's Susquehanna Chorale. We sang concerts in Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich, including a 20-minute set at the Salzburg Cathedral. We were enchanted by the Jodlerfest in Lucern, the heights of Mount Pilatus, the character of old town Innsbruck, the witty tour guides in Salzburg, the views from the towers of Munich, and the warmth and welcome that we received everywhere we went.
